Emergency Support

On September 7, 2024, the large typhoon Yagi made landfall in northern Vietnam, bringing 141 deaths so far. Although the typhoon turned into a tropical depression on September 8, heavy rains continued to fall, causing landslides and other serious damage, especially in the northern part of the country. Typhoon Yagi is considered the most powerful typhoon to hit Vietnam in the past 30 years, and there are concerns that the damage could spread.

AAR Japan (Association for Aid and Relief, Japan) begins providing emergency assistance to typhoon victims in Vietnam. Three Japanese staff members will be dispatched to the affected areas to survey the damage and distribute needed supplies.

AAR has provided emergency assistance when large-scale natural disasters have occurred in Asia, such as the earthquake in eastern Taiwan in April this year and the torrential rains in Laos in September last year. We would like to ask for your cooperation in AAR’s emergency support for the Vietnam Typhoon.
