Launched Emergency Assistance for Pakistan Floods

Pakistan has been experiencing heavy monsoon rains since July 2024, resulting in large-scale flooding in many parts of the country. Landslides, flash floods, and mudslides have occurred in the mountainous northern part of the country, killing 101 people, injuring 144, and completely or partially destroying 974 houses as of September 11. Transportation infrastructure such as roads and bridges, as well as schools and other facilities, have been severely damaged.

AAR Japan (Association for Aid and Relief, Japan) is providing emergency assistance to the victims of the floods in Pakistan. On September 11, AAR Islamabad office dispatched staff members to the heavily damaged province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to survey the damage.

In Pakistan, the summer of 2022 was also marked by severe flooding, and AAR provided emergency assistance such as food distribution and water supply support. Further disasters have hit the country as people are finally recovering from the devastation of the floods.

AAR is committed to delivering the necessary support as quickly as possible, and we sincerely ask for your cooperation in our emergency relief efforts.
