AAR Japan (Association for Aid and Relief, Japan) has been selected as a charity partner for the Osaka Marathon 2027, which will take place on Sunday, February 28, 2027. We are currently recruiting charity runners to run through the streets of Osaka with us!

What is a Charity Runner?
The Osaka Marathon is an international marathon with citizen participation that was launched in 2011. Under the new slogan “Together, We Create a Rainbow” announced in July 2026, The Osaka Marathon provides runners, spectators, volunteers, and others with opportunities to participate in Charity Runners participate in the Osaka Marathon to deepen their understanding of the event’s charity activities and broaden the circle of support.
As a Charity Runner, you choose a Charity Partner you wish to support. In addition to the participation fee (USD 145), you will be required to make a charity donation of two shares (USD 10) and a contribution of at least USD 475.

How Your Donations Will Be Used
Donations received through the Osaka Marathon 2027 will be used for our organization’s activities, including emergency relief, assistance for refugees, support for persons with disabilities, and disaster relief. Your participation as a charity runner will help support a better future for people in need.
Entry and Participation Process
STEP 1: Entry
Go to the Osaka Marathon 2027 Charity Runner application page, select AAR Japan as your charity partner and complete your Charity Runner entry.

STEP 2: Participation Procedures
Upon payment of the participation fee and completion of the required procedures, your participation in the Osaka Marathon 2027 will be confirmed.
Total participation fee: USD 630 or more
(Breakdown: Entry Fee: USD 145 + 2 Charity Donation Units: USD 10 + Donation: USD 475 or more)
*Administrative fee of 11% of the payment amount will be charged separately.
STEP 3: Race Day
Run through the streets of Osaka in support of those in need.
The application deadline for charity runners is October 19th (Monday).

Charity Runner Benefits
AAR Japan will support our Charity Runners every step of the way—from the lead-up to the marathon through race day and beyond.
Charity runners are entitled to the following benefits:
① Dedicated Check-in for Charity Runners
At the EXPO before the Osaka Marathon, Charity Runners can use a dedicated lane for runner check-in. A dedicated baggage drop-off service is also available on race day, making the entire process smoother and more convenient.
② Dedicated Charity Runner Area
Charity Runners can use dedicated changing areas, as well as dedicated water and food stations, at the start and finish areas.
③ Original Goods
You will receive a “Charity T-shirt” and other items provided by the organizers.
④ Number Card Featuring Your Charity Partner’s Name
Your Charity Partner’s name will be printed on your number card.
AAR fully supports charity runners!
- You will receive an AAR Charity T-shirt.
- We will provide opportunities for Charity Runners to connect and share information with each other and with AAR Japan.
- On race day, AAR Japan staff will be there to support and cheer you on.
- We will send an English-language “Osaka Marathon 2027 Report” to Charity Runners and everyone who donated to AAR Japan, explaining how the donations have been used to support our activities.
Your challenge will send a message of encouragement to people around the world who need support.
